MOTM Xavi
Xavier Mbuyamba has been a revelation for FC Volendam this season, so it's no surprise that the team has seen a clear reduction in goals conceded since his arrival. The 6 foot 5 centre-back has shown composure, along with his ball mastery, to add stability from the back but also sparking attacks with his clinical passing between the lines and diagonal balls over the top.
4 games in, and playing every minute since joining his side who are based in the North of Holland, they faced near neighbours, AFC Ajax, where Xavi quite literally received his flowers, after an incredible performance against the current Eredivisie Champions. He was awarded the “Man Of The Match” honour and we’re sure he’ll take this onto the rest of the season to really mark his name as one of the future stars of Dutch football!
